The Wing Horse Club is a family oriented organization that embraces the western way of life, promotes sportsmanship, and a sense of giving back to the community for all ages.
Regardless of your level of rodeo and horsemanship interests, you're sure to enjoy the networking with others involved in this industry. The primary event for the Wing Horse Club is its annual rodeo. We've been going strong since 1947 and are proud to report that plans are developing for yet another great Rodeo. We co-sanctioning our rodeo again this year with the North Dakota Rodeo Association and Northwest Ranch Cowboy Association.

Previous Highlights
Running Water.. Flushing Toilets.. Could It Be?-- 2016 was the summer of doing what we'd dreamt of doing for years. That's right, we put in a restroom with running water and flushing toilets.
Times Have Changed in the Boxes-- Keeping the Grounds looking great gives us a great sense of pride, but we also work hard to keep the arena highly functional. After assessing all the upgrades needed to keep the Wing Rodeo at it's best, replacing the timed event chute topped the list. We were fortunate to partner with Korral Supply from Douglas, ND to get a snappy new system in place.
Shining Strong-- In 2013 you might recall that we put up lights at the Rodeo Grounds. We were thrilled with the progress, but quickly realized that we needed to the lights to be even brighter that we initially projected. We did install a higher quality light and hope they continue shining strong for years to come.
67th Annual Rodeo-- What a rodeo!! We kicked off our VIP Supper with entertainment by Greg Hager.. Then enjoyed 2 full days of heart stopping rodeo activities. We also held our annual raffle where we sent one lucky rodeo fan to the PBR Finals in Las Vegas, plus we are gave away a .22 Caliber Rifle, a western décor gift basket, 2 show passes to the North Dakota State Fair, and Bessy’s Best gift certificates.
Showing Off at Our Horse Show-- We tried our hand at playing host to a horse show again at the grounds. judges worked with the contestants and made it a super special day. Events included showmanship, lead line, horsemanship, ranch horse pleasure, trail, barrel racing, pole bending, and keyhole.
Jr High Rodeo-- After a little.. actually a lot of rain on our initial date, we successfully rescheduled and had yet another amazingly rewarding Junior High School Rodeo.
The Holding Pens, No Longer Old-- Tackling at least one huge project each year seems to be a common trend these days. We finally fixed the holding pens on the timed event end of the arena.. YES!!
Jerri Mann Clinic--
The wind was blowing and it was a cool misty day, but that didn't slow down the barrel racers eager to learn for 5 time Wrangler National Finals qualifier, Jerri Mann on Friday May 24th. Jerri came all the way from Bakersfield California to work with 10 riders at the Wing Rodeo Grounds. Click Here for a few pictures.
Let There Be Light-- We made a decision early this spring to put up lights at the Rodeo Grounds. This is something that has been talked about for at least 15 years. We're had some excellent progress on the project already... The poles are set, the wire is trenched in, the existing lights have been repaired and are shining bright, and the new lights are up! Many great thanks to Capital Electric, CN Stars, & JI Manufacturing and Welding for making it possible.
66th Annual Rodeo-- There was a little rain, but it didn't stop the "sleep when you dead" rodeo contestants get things going for the die hard rodeo fans at the 66th Annual Wing Rodeo June 22 & 23. Click Here for the event program.
Prairie Fire Stampede Held at Wing Community Days Celebration-- We rode in the Parade at 10:30, then held the Prairie Fire Stampede! This was a special Bronc & Bull Riding with Barrel Racing fund raiser for the Wing Ambulance and Wing Fire Department. Many thanks to CN Stars, the Wing Community Days committee, & all the helping hands that will make this event possible. Click Here our flyer.
Showing Off at Our Horse Show-- On Saturday July 27th we played host to a fantastic day of horse showing at the grounds. One of North Dakota's finest seasoned certified judges worked with the contestants and made it a super special day. Events included showmanship, lead line, horsemanship, ranch horse pleasure, trail, barrel racing, pole bending, and keyhole. Cash and ribbons were enjoyed by all participants!
Wing Horse Club Member Crowned Champion--Congratulations to Linda Nagel of Hazelton for winning a trophy saddle at the District 3 National Barrel Racing Association Finals which was sponsored in part by the Wing Horse Club and the Miss Rodeo Prairie Rose Pageant.
